CHICAGO, May 8, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The Chicago Comb Company successfully launched their first mass-market product on Kickstarter this past month. The Chicago Comb Company was founded in 2010 by two childhood friends, John and Tedd. Chicago Comb revolutionized the comb market by introducing the first modern metal hair combs, made right in their hometown of Chicago, and have been awarded two patents for their designs. Chicago Comb has customers and retailers in over 70 countries.
Chicago Comb continues their push to innovate and move the comb forward by introducing the first ever American made professional grade carbon fiber composite combs. Up until now all of the Chicago Combs have been made out of high-quality stainless steel and titanium in a variety of designs. The new carbon fiber comb continues their hallmark timeless designs seen in their original combs and offers high-quality, durable combs at an affordable price. The first combs in their Carbon Fiber line include their iconic and original model no. 1, the ultimate hair comb and a brand new design, the model no. 6 style comb that is versatile enough for barbers or your everyday styling at home.
Our new combs are made of an ultra-high quality carbon fiber composite manufactured to the highest standards of quality and safety. An added benefit is that carbon fiber is also naturally anti-static, unlike traditional plastic combs which can give you unpleasant 'static shock.' These new combs are also heat- and chemical-resistant, unlike regular combs, and are far more durable.

Owner and co-founder of Chicago Comb Company, Tedd Strom says, “Our new combs are made of an ultra-high quality carbon fiber composite manufactured to the highest standards of quality and safety. An added benefit is that carbon fiber is also naturally anti-static, unlike traditional plastic combs which can give you unpleasant 'static shock.' These new combs are also heat- and chemical-resistant, unlike regular combs, and are far more durable.”
They have put a lot of attention to the details in both the design and user experience, including gently rounded tips and a surface that won’t scratch your head or pull your hair like cheap combs do. They have developed a solid customer base over the years and have listened to their customer feedback to further perfect their new comb. The Kickstarter funds will be used to help with their research and development as well as the manufacturing costs of carbon fiber combs.
The Chicago Comb team have exceeded their initial Kickstarter goal by nearly five times the amount they were shooting for. The project has sold over 1,800 combs so far and with over 1,000 people supporting their new product making it the most successful hair comb ever launched on Kickstarter. The combs will be available on Chicago Comb’s website in late May 2018 at www.chicagocomb.com.
